2015 ()

(cask) dark colour. The nose reflects oak and tar, some grilling, beyond which lies an aroma of crisp blueberry fruit. The palate runs with sleek black fruit, is very good from A to Z, with real style and balance aiding its cause. The finish has a chocolate-oak aspect, and will settle down fine. The juice is refined here, a good card to play. From 2019 for the oak to integrate. 2031-33 Oct 2016

2014

(cask) dark robe, legs visible. The nose is chunky, has an air of beef stock, dark berries. The palate bears stylish fruit with a crisp, pure quality, and lengthens successfully on its oak and tannins. This is set to do well, since there is both content and potential. It captures the vintage well. 13°. 5,000 b. €19 export. From mid-2018. 2027-28  Oct 2015

2013 ()

(cask) shiny dark robe. Oak-varnish form the first aroma, with a savoury, entrails angle to the nose, the pulp of plum fruit here. The palate is soft and mildly scented, delivers a glancing impression rather than a sustained one. It ends on a light jam, touch vegetal combination, indeed finishes abruptly. From 2016. 13°. 2021-23 Jan 2015

2012 ()

(new 228-litre cask) dark robe, full. Oily air here, hedgerow liqueur fruit such as blackberry, plenty of juice and char from the oak. The palate gives a sweep of black fruit, cherry, with flexible tannins that fit in well and support the finish. Good shape. Its fruit waves across the palate with some élan, but the oak is very obvious, and fences it in for now. From 2016. 13°. 2025-27  Nov 2013

2011

(new 228-litre cask) three-quarter depth red; curvy, open nose that shows raspberry liqueur, oak smoke, open fruit that is easy to appreciate, no real extras, touch of good dust. The palate shows more terroir, has a fine grain in its red plum fruit, Pinot style fruit that is attractive. Elegant wine, pretty pure. Has tasty length, a lot of acidity, but is very accessible. From 2105. 2023-24  Oct 2012

2010

bright dark red mixed with black. The nose is nicely wide, offers rather supple blackberry and is deep, has potential, also shows smoke and licorice at this early stage. There is good circulation of dark fruit with heart and a Rozier mineral clarity on the palate. A shapely wine to come, with good matter and style in its gras richness. It lengthens well, keeps the fruit. The oak gives charcoal on the aftertaste now – from 2015 for less oak. The finale is tasty, with floral drifts. STGT qualities will emerge, and it will sing in due course, around 2017-18. 13°. 2025-26  Oct 2012

2008

bottled 3 weeks ago: gentle red-purple colour. Blackberry coulis or mulberry jam aroma – an elegant air, comes with vanilla traces. The palate black fruit is flecked with mineral, a cool thread runs through it, as if straight off the granite. A clear wine with quiet gras. More settled around mid-2011. 13°. 2018-19 Dec 2009

2007 ()

(casks) dark robe; the bouquet is well enclosed, compact, steady – blackberry fruit that comes with a slightly oily air, brambly fruit and sloe berries. The palate reveals forward, black cherry fruit with oak and licorice lacing through it – it has a decent centre of gravity, and lengthens steadily, no falling away. It is compact for this vintage that is free-limbed by and large. Suggests the northern zone in its clarity. A modern style wine with its oaking and clean fruit (tasted blind). A fine wine that keeps going, one that promises progress. From mid-2010. 2017-18 Dec 2008

2006

(casks) black core, cherry top to robe. The aroma is of long hang-time grapes, red fruits that are a little airy at the same time: the overall impression is of sweetness, sweet plums, and a little oak. Red fruits with a sweet nature start the palate, with tannins coming in at half-way, the tannins largely ripe. Gets some oak grip late on, and there is a bit too much of the oak. The aftertaste shows black pepper and oak. Within there lies refined fruit, but the wine should be left until 2010 to integrate. 2018-20 Nov 2007

2005

(casks) nutty, quite full, ripe raspberry fruit aroma, with slight reduction. Red stone fruit start to palate, but reduction covers its core clarity. Pretty rich texture, is a wine of charm, and holds a mineral texture towards the finish – true to the house style. Sound length, decent breadth. There is plenty here, but with a thread of definition running through it. Esp 2009 on. 2019-21 Nov 2006
