2018

(cask) purple-black robe. There is good layering of blackberry fruit with a hint of violet on the nose. The palate offers enjoyable immediate fruit, rocks on, the finish fresh, with energy. It holds blue fruit that comes with discreet sweetness, gras. This is very good for an IGP, is interesting, approaches Côte-Rôtie. 14.5° - getting higher and higher. 6,600 b. This is VALUE. From spring 2021. 2032-34 Dec 2019  GB £97/6 b in bond The Wine Society +44(0)1438 741177 https://www.thewinesociety.com/openingoffer/Overview.aspx?offercode=wrh181

red robe; dark red fruits, a touch of violets on the nose. Red fruits, raspberry feature on the palate, which lengthens into a compact, rounded finale. 13.5°. 2027-29 Dec 2019 Previously Nov 2017 ***(*) (used 228-litre oak cask, bottling July 2018) dark red. Has a nicely free nose that presents black fruits with a herbs, vegetal touch from the stems. The palate gives a stream of tight black fruit, with fresh and live tannins that are enjoyable, tasty even, adding good darkness. There is light reduction. This has promise, good integrity, with lift from the stems. There is crunch in its good finish. From late-2018. 2027-28 Nov 2017

(used 228-litre cask, bottling July 2017) dark robe. The nose has a sweet blackberry, attractive air with flowers present – it has good depth, is unhurried. The palate is starting to tighten, bears plump content, real munchable matter with squeezy richness. This is beau, has good crunch in its tannins. It ends firmly for now. “It has structure, volume,” Pierre Rostaing. From 2019. 2026-28 Oct 2016

2014 ()

plum red colour. Violets, lots of musky flowers come with pepper, raspberry fruit on the nose, which has intensity. The palate has fine fruit, fine grip, with restrained crunch, powdery tannins, licorice. This is dainty and naked and elegant. Interest and precision appear in the glass. It is refined and beau. It isn’t quite there yet – drink from mid-2017. Bottled Aug 2016. 2022-23 Oct 2016

2012 ()

(used 228-litre oak cask) good red robe. There is a appealing expanse across the nose, right across it, with a jam note, a quiet persistence in its gras and tangy berries. The palate starts cautiously, then draws in and narrows down, limits itself at the end. Its has frame, its sides are well established, holds black fruits and crackly tannins that lead to a pebbly end. The length is decent. A bit more to it than the 2011. The nose is more open than the palate; this is very aromatic. “It is more complete and rich than the 2011,” René Rostaing. €10 export. 2024-25  Oct 2013

2011

sound red robe. The nose is lively – zap, lots of fruit, small berries, licorice. The palate repeats the good formula of the nose – hedgerow fruit darts around, it holds live tannin that is grainy, has a fresh tang. There are tar moments in a clear finish. “It is very Syrah of the northern Rhône, typical, and will take on more volume with another year,” René Rostaing. Bottled Set 2013. 2020-21 Oct 2013

2010 ()

dark red. Smoky bacon, lardon aroma with a good roll of blackberry, spice traces, licorice, a hint of oak. The palate comes forward with attractive violet-floral dabs that persist through the palate; the fruit is an appealing raspberry with mulberry. It ends on fine grain, a little powdery tannin. A serious wine for an IGP; the fruit is crisp, willing, easy to drink. There is a successful combination of fruit and flowers on the aftertaste. €10 export price. 2021-22. Bottled July 2012.   May 2013

(oak) the red fruit on the palate gives a sense of coming from richer soil, with a couch of depth to it, and a jam nature. The aroma is also red fruit with a soft air. The length is correct. To 2013 or so. Jan 2008
