medium depth red; this has a smoky, free wheeling aroma – the nose is a fine layer of pebbly airs, has a grainy nature. The palate is accessible, open – it holds an attractive little central red fruit with some fine grain, quite tasty tannins late on. It is a touch spare, but it is OK for the medium term. It isn’t showing a lot obviously. From spring 2016. 12.5°. 31,000 b. 2024-26 GB £84/6 bots in bond Berry Brothers 0800 280 2440 +44(0)207 022 8973  www.bbr.com Feb 2015

quite a dark red. The red fruit aroma has some grace, is not full on like the Pierres Seches St Joseph 2010 from Yves. There is a tender soaked red cherry air, a herbs and hay notes present also. The palate starts with clear red fruit, grips well, develops quietly along the palate. It finishes clearly, with fine grain tannins there. Good style. Balanced, and there is a pure style to the fruit. Great with roast lamb. 13°. 2021-22  Sept 2012  Previously Feb 2012 ***(*) (bottling in two weeks) solid, deep robe, black inside it. Has a stylish, elegant, creamy bouquet that is round and nicely complete – it combines fine freshness with ripeness, comes in a smooth style, the main fruit being blackberry. The palate holds streamlined, modern black fruit with a hint of liqueur briefly in it. It runs very tidily after its simple, tasty attack – the simplicity a factor of its youth more than anything else. Easy drinking wine with discreet body. The fruit has an intensity that is always pretty and orderly. Ready soon. From mid-2012. 2021-22 Feb 2012

(casks) dark, black-tinted robe; live, black jam aroma with licorice and oak floating around it, flowers also. The palate holds a soft blackberry fruit with good life late on. The oak is pretty well integrated, and comes through with a burst of black pepper. The core fruit is good, as is the grip on the end. The oak will be more infused around late 2008. 2015-16 Dec 2007

2002

brambly/tarry nose, fair warmth; sleek, streamlined cassis, crunchy/chunky. Square, oaked end. 2010-12

2001

firm, smoky nose; squeezy black fruit, well peppered end. Quite pretty, early wine

2000

wide black fruit nose, pepper overlay; modern, cassis fruit wine, suave, clean. Tannins/pepper. More to it from 2005. 2010-11
