2018

(vat/casks) dark robe, black with purple. The bouquet carries ripe depth, polished aromas of black fruits, sweetness from the sunshine. The palate offers a good, steady flow of black cherry fruit, refined tannins well attached. This is stylish, promising. It will show well in a large glass, both aromatically and via its lissom appeal on the palate. The length is good. From 2022. 2033-35 Nov 2019

2017 ()

(vat/casks) dark, shiny robe; the bouquet is clear, polished, promising – there are neat cassis, small berry fruit airs, a note of dark chocolate, oak nutshells behind. The palate reflects the nose in being harmonious, spreads its joli, streamlined, clear dark red fruit well, backed up by clear, very precise tannins. This will drink well, but has to absorb its insistent oaking, which poses questions for now. This would be real w.o.w. wine if raised in steel with a minority oak proportion. From 2020. 2029-30 Dec 2018

2016

(casks) deep dark red. Black olives, crushed nutshells airs lead the nose, with a jig of saltiness, and some pure blackberry fruit on the inside. The palate bears some stylish content, an elegant wave of black fruits with trim tannins attached until a more pebbly sign-off. The quality of the juice here is good, and it finishes with style. 13.5°. 15,000 b. From mid-2018. 2023-24 Nov 2017

2015

very dark robe. The nose is well filled with piles of ripe blackberries and blueberries, has an insistent depth, shows oak. The palate bears tight knit black berry fruits and matter, with tannins that are emphasized towards the finish. It’s broad and fluid, making its way, has interesting late clarity and fine grain presence. 13°. 15,000 b. €7.20 export. From late 2017. 2024-25 Oct 2016

2014

quite a dark red robe. The nose shows reduction, some game, an air of soaked red berries. It is just starting to evolve. The palate has a soft debut, holds lightly sweet red berry fruit, mild tannins. It drinks now, suited to grilled foods. There is a little lip smack on the finish. 13°. To 2019  April 2016

2013

dark, sustained robe. Damp soil, reductive aroma, a big bouquet in the making, one that has scale, shows a prune depth. The palate is broad, plump, offers gourmand, textured fruit with a small cluster of tannin towards the finish. It leaves a nicely full impression - you get bang for your buck here. It has a cool fruit finish. A well made, complete Crozes. Grills, roast meats on the menu. 13°. 10,000 b. 50% steel vat raised. €6.30 export. GB £17.50 Flint Wines jason@flintwines.com www.flintwines.com 2020-21  Jan 2015

2012 ()

dark robe, purple and black. Brewed, black raisin, chiselled bouquet, licorice present. There is a bit of effort in it, isn’t calm. The palate gives a sound wrap around of black cherry, with a fluid gras richness; oak creeps into the picture, takes the lead on the finish. 20% less oak would help it. From late 2014. 13°. 10,000 b. €6.30 ex cellars. To 2018.  Nov 2013

2011 ()

(vat/casks) dark colour; fluid, stylish blackberry air that is open and inviting, has no complications, shows a wee note of licorice. This appeals thanks to its clarity, also has a tang of acetate, liqueur fruit. There is a violet-tinted carry of black stone fruit along the palate. Fine grain, dark tannins at the end give it an extra kick of attitude. Not yet ready. Has very good fruit heart, is tasty and textured. It needs to draw together its finish. From spring 2014. 8,000 b. 2019-20  Nov 2012

2010

dark red, bonny robe; reductive, peppery, dusty air, sleek black fruit within. The palate bears juiced black fruit with also a dusty side to it, a trail of restraint after half way. There is an assertive spot of dark berry fruit on the aftertaste, some heat. Food better than solo drinking. 2,667 b. 2017-2018 May 2012
