(casks) dark red robe. Raspberry-mulberry fruit with life in its aroma, a spot of vanilla and rosemary herb, an attractive start. The palate is drinkable now, though not yet bottled. It has the easy access, low acidity features of 2011, sporting gentle waves of black fruit, prune, jam, fig jam. It extends to a gummy finale. Better with food than solo drinking. To 2018. Nov 2012
(casks) dark robe; has a broad air, shows black raisin, a little coffee ahead of a steady layer of black berry fruit – it has a mild, attractive scenting. Good, tasty attack – the black fruit has life, a little sweetness, a tang of tar and licorice; it runs with smoky purpose, the finish is fully in tune with the attack. It can refine and merge, is easy to drink, a wine of harmony and a very good example of Crozes to show people how the wine should be. From 2013. To 2018. Nov 2011
dark, black tone to the robe; the bouquet is a measured do, with promise and some depth – there are sweet notes, dates, a little raspberry. The palate starts on a quite a broad footing – the mid-palate is steadily held together and ends on a full note. Red fruits with the olive leaning of the southern zone here, the length is good. More matter and stuffing than many 2007 Crozes reds. From spring 2009. To 2014 Dec 2008
tar, black fruit modern bouquet. Taut, upright palate, has some core but is restrained, and dry from the oak, that narrows the cherry flavour that appears near finish. Can only wait and hope. 2006 on. 2010-11 Dec 2004 Previously Dec 2003 * varnish, oily black fruit present on bouquet. Quite suave black fruit, some juiciness. Fruit acquires pepper near finish. Quite nice early on, oak works OK.
soaked fruit, some of the dampness of evolution now on bouquet. Juiced, sappy flavour, a lot in front of the mouth, tannins questionable. Clean, blackberry fruit, has a little scope. 2005 on. 2011-12
nose moving to damp forest, core is light black jam with spice. Nicely rounded palate, sound red fruits here - strawberry finish. Clean jam flavour agreeable. 2009.
quite full robe; tangy, ample bouquet, animal side to the black fruits/loganberries. Some scale on palate - varied flavours by now. Still young, and full, though just starting to turn on the finish. Air dries it a little. 2010 Dec 2003
