2012 ()

full red, traces of spritz. There is a plump little centre to the nose, which suggests a coulis of fruits such as cherry and blackberry, with licorice and a note of reduction. The flavour combines Morello cherry and licorice. It extends with the breeze of its altitude, finishing cleanly. Attractive, a wine of character, STGT. It has the grain of 2012 and its vineyard height on the finish, so needs foods – steak would be grand. A good blending of its varieties. 13.5°. 2015-16. £6.49 from Waitrose in GB. May 2013
