Syrah from southern Ardèche
2011
attractive, quite full red robe. Blackberry-mulberry, well-fronted, good Syrah nose, lively. Fruit is its calling card over pepper, for instance, which is often present in these cheaper wines. This drinks well, the fruit is supple. It transfers well from nose to palate, has juicy fruit, no rough edges, wee notes of tannin, a spot of licorice, ending freshly. Is w.o.w. wine and ace VALUE at €2.95 in Monoprix, Paris. Attractive fruit, good composition, does a great job. Air helps the nose, adds floral touches. Serve chilled. 12.5°. To 2015 June 2013
