2016

dark red colour. The bouquet produces a live aroma of sweet mulberry fruits, a raspberry backing, is an immediate opening. The palate is more reserved, runs with a fine red-fruited, rolling richness that persists well and truly, has a savoury, wide and enjoyable finale. This is a sensuous, jolly Crozes, lots to like. 13°. 2021-22 Nov 2017

2015

(casks, final blend) dark red robe. The nose gives a little sprinkle of flowers in with the black fruit; there is a note of coffee beans. The palate has inner wire, a lithe content as if it is from rocky lands. This will take a little time to fuse, and then to open. The blueberry fruit is nice and pure, and it moves with quite intent. Stylish wine, not the barbecue wine, more à table with a good legs of lamb or magret de canard (duck breast). The oaking has been finely done. 13°. 40,000 b. €8.95 export. From late 2017. 2024-25 Oct 2016

2014

sober dark red robe. The bouquet is mild, presents a quiet air of black berry fruit with a coffee-licorice tang. The palate bears some suave fruit with a fine set of tannins. This is orderly wine that doesn’t reach for the stars. It closes just a little early. Catch it young is the advice. 13°. 35,000 b. €8.65. From mid-2016. To 2020.  Oct 2015

2013 ()

dark robe. This has a nicely sleek nose – it gives a good, settled air of black berries, licorice, is clear and lifted. The palate links well, offers expressive, tasty fruit, is all very easy to drink. This is w.o.w. wine, a fun affair. It is very much on the go now: bottle it soon, Franck! Mild tannins fit in well. Exactly the sort of Crozes one wants for effortless drinking. 13°. To 2019  Jan 2015

2010

(casks) dark robe, black tints. The bouquet is softer than the Les Châssis, a wee bit more mineral – reveals black fruit paste, black olives and light floral shades. The palate offers lissom appeal, is round and well wrapped. Oaking is present, is malleable and fits into the wine. It is currently more together than the Châssis. The fruit is supple and well-sustained, charming and true. From spring-mid 2013. Very tasty around 2015-16, no doubt. 2019-20 Nov 2011

2007

dark red; stewed, compote fruit, very southern aroma, Italian airs even, with vanilla. It is plush, near the boudoir state. The palate gives fat, fleshy red fruit, comes with a touch of the fashionable liqueur in nature, the long maceration. It is a little herbal, fennel- infused, ends on licorice. Fat style, is very much Syrah of the plain – could never be from the granite of the northern sector at Crozes. Length is OK. 13°. To 2013. Sept 2009 Previously March 2009 **(*) quite a dark red; cassis or black currant shoots air, with floral overtones. The palate gives a supple, textured display of scented black fruits. A little late snap from the tannin is welcome, the aftertaste is scented. To 2011-12 March 2009

2006

quite a dark robe; the nose carries black berry fruit with some smoky topping and charcoal – is quite ripe and wide. A woven mix of black fruits and tannins render the palate quite leathery late on – for now. The fruit has some dash., the length is OK, and there is a peppery aftertaste. 2011-13 Dec 2007

2005 ()

quite a dark robe; broad, persistent, plunging nose of macerated red fruits. The palate has an oily, full texture, with lots of round, nicely sweet appeal. Its tannins lie well within, but tighten and dry the end moments in a constructive way. Persistent, genuine wine – I like its generosity. 2014-15 Dec 2006

2004 ()

scented, black jam aroma, which also combines flowers and oak, floats out rather well. Appealing attack of berried fruits, is very drinkable, there is succulence in its juice. Length OK. The oak gets into the drive position as the air enters, but this contains potential for the future. From 2007. 2011-12 April 2006

2003

peppered, direct bouquet, some depth. Dry-tinged flavour - cherry fruit, quite rigid, though some underlying gras. Chewy, quite cool finale. 2006 on. 2011-12
