100% Marsanne (1960, 1980, 1993), fermented, raised in vat/used casks 12-14 months, 2000 b
rather bright, bonny yellow robe. Pear-peach, softly fragrant nose, lime tart, light mandarin touches – a wine of round serenity is announced by the bouquet. The palate has a pretty texture, really effortless, has a sweet side. Good length, shows final cut, is precise. Tender Marsanne here, especially on the finish. The start = texture. The end = grain, Marsanne cut. STGT wine of really clear access, I love its really natural, local character. I can almost find sanded granite soils speaking as it were in its cut. Bottled May 2011. To 2015 Nov 2011
(cask) pretty, soft bouquet - honeysuckle. Marmalade, spiced fruit like peaches on palate, ripe with a relaxed feel. Good end vinosity, and some final heat. Great with trout. STGT wine. Picked 22 August, just 3 casks. 2012/14
warm, soft white fruit/honey bouquet. Wine in the calm old way, like Trollat. Gently oily, then gradually tightens to a floral, peach finish. Slow developer, with some typical Marsanne bitter cut on finish.
nice buttery width on bouquet, light spice, gets out and declares. Good élan and fullness on palate, very good. White fruits emphasis. Great persistence, good matter and acidity together. Tightens a little at end, all in order. Hazelnuts very typical. STGT wine. 2012/14
