2018 ()

attractive red robe; the nose is smoky-noted, offers discreet raspberry. There’s more to come – it’s promising. The palate strikes well on the debut, has a raw-naked style, red cherry, live tannin with good freshness, drive; it extends well. There is good fruit purity. The second half is firm, It will open up from 18 months, mid-2021. Bottled Two months ago. 2031-33 Feb 2020

2017 ()

(vat) dark red; the nose is reserved, shows black berry, raspberry, is pretty lucid. The palate has iron inner grip, is naked, carries no spare flesh, deals a little late gras, juice. This is breezy, holds local ID, is STGT Brézème, can meld together. 2027-29 Feb 2019


has a lusty, dark robe; the bouquet gives an aroma of stewed plums, hedgerow berries, is very Syrah-like in aspect, comes with animal tones before streamlining after 15 minutes of air. The palate has a notably black berry fruit and mint flavour, is nicely full, the breadth decent. It runs on OK, shows some heat as it ends. There is slight reduction, but also appealing warmth and honesty, comes in a cooler, spiced Crozes-Hermitage style. There is a tiny touch of Southern Rhône Syrah in its “farmyard”, not especially clear-cut but wholesome flavour. It moves around with air. It is still good and largely young. 12.5°.
