2019 ()

(cask) quite a full red; the nose is smoky, on raspberry fruit with herbs, soaked red cherries or griottes, a small floral note, pepper clarity. The palate gives good Rock n’Roll, live red fruits that are pastille-like, the tannins engaging, all together with inner energy, great splashes of fruit, exuberance along its way. The inclusion of the stems is a great help, since they give it verve, movement. The aftertaste shows strawberry, rose. It’s close to *****. From 2027. 2054-56 Feb 2020

2018

(cask) dark red; there is a smoky top to the nose, a firm aroma on raspberry, with cordite, vegetal-crunch. The palate has a sturdy start, is close-knit, muscular, suave, well established gras central to it, and assertion in a charged close. This is grounded, solar, away from the rest of their range. Spine is apparent, so it keeps its direction, while the finish shows vegetal crunch, clack. It won’t be charming until it’s mature, around 15 years’ old, for example. From 2026, decant it. 2047-49 Feb 2020
