(cask) quite a full red; the bouquet has a sunshine resistance to its fruit declaration, so is masked for now. There is a tone of stewed stone fruits. The palate has a robust nature, doesn’t hold back, the fruit dense. It carries the packing and thickness, also the slight challenge of the 2017 tannins towards the finish, and Christophe is doing the right thing to raise it another year to make 36 months in total. From 2022. 2036-38 Dec 2019

full red; the bouquet has a stewed blackberry aroma, with prune and discreet rose, musky flowers; it’s nicely done, not in excess. The palate gives a traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with a brewed feel to the black fruits, plenty of juice running around, has a grounded nature, a genuine gras, with some meatiness. It’s unusual in holding 50% Carignan. There is a little furry aspect, a little baking in the tannins which could be more polished if you are picky. 14.5°. 24 months raising. 2036-38 Dec 2019
