70% Roussanne, 30% Marsanne (av age 15 years) from granite soils at Chavanay & St Pierre de Boeuf, purchased harvest, whole bunch pressing, tank fermented at 18°C until specific gravity 1040, then into 2-3 year 400-litre oak casks, max temperature 19°C, raised 9 months, malo blocked, filtered, SO2 applied after fermentation & at bottling, first wine 2017, 2,000 b

2018 ()

yellow robe; the bouquet expresses tropical fruits, papaya, pineapple with vanilla from the oak, is nutty, holds well. The palate has a cosy roundness, good style, with soft gras richness unfurled. It runs into more Marsanne-inspired coolness, grip, generates good juice on the aftertaste, with lift, ping on the exit. It’s solid quality St Jo blanc, has clean, fresh lines. There are nuances, little pockets of those here and there. 13.5°. 2,000 b. 2023-24 Dec 2019
