2018 ()

(casks) full, shiny dark red robe. The bouquet is well curved, comes with blackberry, nice, alert airs, iron notes, neat rows of cassis fruit. There’s a note of reduction on the palate, but it carries charming floral-violet notes with real good late energy, way to go, bustle and life. This is rocking Côtes! It’s a wine of detail, character, very long and bright, with a notably mineral, rocky finish. It’s an achievement, is like a 2016 with more depth. 8,000 b. €35 at the cellars. From 2022-23. 2040-42 Dec 2019

2017

dark red; bright raspberry fruit springs out on the nose, which is smoky, thorough, upright, well shaped, bacon fat present. This patrols along an iron-lined palate, has good style, with sparkle in the fruit, blue fruit and blood in the mix; it’s closed together for now. The length is good; this has verve. 5,000 b. All whole bunch, 60% Cognet. From 2022. Decant it. 2036-38 Dec 2019
