2018 ()

(cask) dark robe; the bouquet is well charged, dark, shows oaking, and a clear thrust of black cherry fruit, with much mineral snap. The attack is thickly juiced, and carries weight, a thorough soaking of black fruit, with munchy tannins on board. It builds as it goes, ends vigorously. The length is prolonged, good. There is a real schist imprint in this STGT wine. From spring 2023. 2044-46 Nov 2019

(casks) very full, mainly black colour; the bouquet carries inner energy, iron snap and appeal, is deep, bears well established black fruits, a note of blueberry, a wisp of rose-violet. The palate sequels effortlessly from the nose, has pedigree, is a leading 2017 Rôtie. The fruit is delightful, refined, and the tannins are smoked, in sync with its oaking. This holds the sève [sap] of old vines, really glistens in its delivery. This is a real beauty, with balance and structure. The oaking on the aftertaste is refined. 13.5°. 100% Syrah. From 2023. 2042-44 Dec 2018

2016 ()

(casks) dark, shiny robe. The bouquet is closely packed with black fruits, carbon, black fruit lozenge airs, has a grunt factor of depth, isn’t all sweetness and light. The palate is broad and then insistent, has the controlled density of a northern sector wine, with ripe, firm tannins lining the second half of the palate, and taking over on the finish. It’s long and promising, has good heart. It represents the schist of Côte Rozier, and its tang, faithfully, is an STGT wine. From 2021. 2033-36 Nov 2017

(cask) dark colour, all the way up. Thee bouquet is a plunge of dark fruit, without having properly emerged yet. There is an inky note to it, dark berry fruit at its centre. The palate drives along with a determined run of sleek, firm black fruits, carries dark, handsome tannins that really enhance it in the later stages. This is top grade Rôtie, for a long future ahead, and a most winning glass in time. The fruit quality is very high, very refined. This is a triumph. 13.5°. 2,000 b . €29. From mid-2019. 2034-37 Oct 2016  Previously Apr 2016 **** (cask) dark red robe. Red and black cherry feature on the nose, which has assured depth, is closed, comes with oaking. The palate bears wavy juice that is controlled by the oak; the juice is fine, offers red fruits, isn’t flamboyant. It gathers strength, ends on saltiness. It is tight as a drum, is really closed right up, has a Burgundian profile. From 2021. 2034-26 Apr 2016
