full red robe; the bouquet is oily, has a sure depth, black fruits that gleam, offers prune hints thanks to the fruit ripeness. There is a hint of flowers, violet. This is a bouquet with real presence. The palate is flanked by firm oak-toasting, had a sturdy and stylish heart, holds way to go black fruits, loganberry that have a racy style, even in the packing present. This is serious, striking Côte-Rôtie that achieves some fresh definition in a powder-vegetal close – 80% of the stems retained. The aftertaste is rocky. Keep an eye on this – it will reward. 14.5°. This is expensive! €118. Bottled late Aug 2018. From 2023. 2040-43 Dec 2018 Previously Oct 2015 ****(*) (used 228-litre cask) dark, shiny robe. There is a meaty aspect, real dig in the deep nose, de la terre, a grounded strength. It is grilled, gives airs of butty black fruits. The palate is lined with cherry fruit and brisk, punchy tannins, ending on a good, firm roll, is very persistent. Much potential. “It is a pleasure to vinify wines like this when you have the matter and the balance. In 2014 we worked twice as hard for an inferior result to that of 2015,” Xavier Gérard. 18 years  Oct 2015

bottled three days ago, with no press wine included; dark red robe. Has a black cherry, peppery, gentle black fruits aroma with a tar overlay. The nose has good darkness and is inviting. This is indeed crunchy wine with 67% of the stems included in this vintage of small grapes; it has dark veins and runs with good continuity. It flourishes tasty fruit on the finish, has a black jam flavour with licorice and mocha present. It captures Landonne, has character. 2029-31 Oct 2015
