(vat/casks) golden hued robe, legs visible. The nose reflects ripe Clairette blanche, is relatively discreet, but comes with a good foundation of smoky, incense-like airs, greengage plums, notes of cooked orange. The palate is sturdy, well-filled, comes with a wholesome, nicely tight richness, just offering a little concentrated juice before the finish. This is a Thinker’s Wine, not for passing trade. It is set up for la table, Bresse chicken with a moriiles mushroom sauce, veal, pork dishes. It has a thorough heart, and good local character. 13°. 1,000 b. 32% Clairette, 32% Gren bl, 32% Rouss, 4% Picardan. €34. From spring 2018. 2024-25 Nov 2017

there are gold tints in the full yellow robe. The nose has an aroma of peach jam, a hint of camomile. The palate is full, obvious, has rolling fat, and a fleshy delivery. It gives a nectarine then white raisin flavour on the finish, a knuckle of tannic grip there as it rather drifts. It’s pretty grounded, a little one-paced, low on flair. 14°. 1,000 b. 2023-24  Sept 2016
