60% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre from galet stone, clay, clay-limestone soils, destemmed, 3 week vinification, pumping overs, cap punching, steel vat raised 9-11 months, filtered, 50-67,000 b


deep robe, black-purple centre. The bouquet is pretty laden, has an aroma of ripe black cherry fruit with a little cocoa, dark chocolate. The palate sets off with well textured black fruits, some springy tannins and their minted lift in tow. The length is good. It has a pleasing heart of enjoyable, swishy gras. There is a note of tar, unfinished business, on the close. This has potential, fills the glass well. It’s good, no-nonsense wine. 14°. From 2019. 2031-34 Sept 2016

2014 ()

(steel vat, bottling soon) dark red. Smoky bacon air with a full, long-time simmered set of red berries in the bouquet, some herbs, pepper to ginger it up. The palate carries a firm density in its red fruit, with plenty of immediate tannin surging forward. This goes long, with a naturally achieved rolling and deep content. The aftertaste is gummy, prolonged, shows raspberry fruit in the mix. Good potential. 13.5°. 67,000 b. €20. From mid-2018. 2032-34  Oct 2015


medium-full purple hue. Plummy, red berry aroma, a touch jammy in definition. The palate is supple and fresh, medium weight and easy in style. It has a tiny tannic frame, but is not a wine for long ageing. Correct for the vintage. From 2016. 2021-22 JL Oct 2014


sober, rather thin red colour; there is a light note of pine and basil also rose that hover above the plum fruit aroma on the nose. This is a little pinched between the nose and the palate, offers short-term drinking, shuts down early. It offers glimmers of red fruit but needs more juice, and the exit is grainy.
