quite a dark red, some shine in it. The bouquet is overtly reduced, really clamours for air. There is a hump of cooked black fruit within, has a ripe, jam-like density. The palate is a savoury do, bears squeezy content, fleshy matter, carries black berry fruits, rolls along on its sun-filled sweet ripeness. It’s an upfront, squelchy St Jo that lacks the structure, pedigree of the best. It is easy to drink, especially if you double decant it. It’s on the go now. 13.5°. Amazingly cheap at €6. 2024-25 Nov 2019
