matt hued dark red robe; the bouquet is a brewed up, wide affair, hearty and layered, built around prune fruit, nutshells, grilling, inner power that is under control. The palate lays out a sustained run of red stone fruit flavour, plums with sweet late notes, the tannins still on a powder-dry tone. This has character, good strength, appeals via its heart and no-nonsense delivery, is suited to game dishes. 14.5°. From 2020, not before. 2027-29 if well cellared Mar 2019
