dark red; there’s plenty of blackberry, with coffee, smoke, cedar, crunch, coolness on the nose. The palate gives free running black fruits, saline notes, a good burst of berry fruit central to it. This drinks well, has beat. 12.5°. Bottled end Aug 2019. To 2023 Feb 2020

2017

(vat) bright red-mauve colour. Has a good primary red fruit air with a neat density within. The palate bears free red fruits, raspberry, comes with clear, quiet strength after half way. This has good foundation, and finishes with content there. Has risen to 7,600 b this year. To 2021 Feb 2018

2016

bright, dark red. There is a sultry air on the nose, blackberry, cordite, vegetal notes – it has “crunch” from the stems. The palate gives a good strike of red fruits with life and length. This is precise, with discreet body. There’s some reduction, so allow it to air. This is the June 2017 bottling. 12.5°. To 2020 Feb 2018

2014 ()

sober, quite dark red. Has a neat, bright, spiced air, red fruits with beeswax. The palate has nerve, floral notes that are appealing; it’s a bit like a Crozes-Hermitage. The texture is joli, it’s very easy to drink, w.o.w. wine. Fine powder tannins close it. It has character, is suited to grills. Bottled May 2015. To 20-18 May 2016
