purple-dark red robe. The bounty of the garrigue features on the nose, mixed herbs, cherry liqueur, has a dull depth, is a touch heady. The palate is full, lined with ripe tannins, is a fuelled wine with ground force. It has late crisp/rocky notes, pings of cool-vegetal, which help its length and form, making it not too static. You can’t drink much of this, though. 15°. 2028-30 Feb 2019

red with a hint of purple in the robe. Dried herbs such as rosemary accompany red cherry, raspberry airs; there is pure fruit as usual here. The palate has a weave of red fruits, red cherry, a firm feel, for now, needs around nine months to relax. The tannins munch well. There is good build through the palate, some power. 15°. 35% Cari, 25% Gren, 25% Syr, 10% Coun, 5% Mourv. From 2019. 2025-26 Oct 2017

medium depth red robe. Has an overtly spiced-peppered nose with a rather beguiling floral note that ups the ante. Plum and licorice also feature. The palate is neat, good and drinkable; it has a tasty heart, and is also rather floral, with peppery red fruit at the helm. It has character, and is pleasing. The finale is sound, pretty compact, and it lengthens steadily. 13.5°. 40% Cari, 27% Syr, 15% Gren, 9% Mourv, 9% Counoise. 2018-19  Apr 2015

nice, bright and full red. Pronounced red fruit aroma, with a lightly nutty backdrop, warm stones and a note of licorice. The palate is made up of sinewed, grippy red fruit – it weaves along with well-knit tannins never far away. Bracing, upright wine which needs to ease over the next 12 months. It ends firmly. Needs food due its firm texture, but may ease. 14°. To 2018. 42% Gren, 34% Cari, 24% Syr this year. Feb 2012

level red robe; compact red fruits nose – light garrigue stone dust, licorice. This floats along the palate, shows baked red fruits, quiet resolve, a clear fruit style. It ends tightly, is a reliable wine that will be more open by spring 2010. The palate today is tight, concentrated, chunky, with red cherry in the flavour – all very Carignan. 14°. 2014-16 “I would eat lamb, ratatouille, daube of Provençale bull, also charcuterie, with this. There are pockets of herb on the finish, and its spiciness is like a Cairanne,” Marcel Richaud. Nov 2009
