(casks) red of some depth, matt tone; smoky, meat and bacon surround to red plum fruit airs, sprinkle of herbs also. The palate gives bright early fruit, gains in volume and width as it goes, ending on oak which channels it. The aftertaste is nutty, quite rich and marked by a pocket of red fruit gras or richness. From mid-2010. 2019-20 Nov 2008

pretty, slowly evolving full red; simmered red fruits such as plum and raspberry are delivered with gentle poise on the nose, along with a little top spice. Supple start to the palate, with a hint of alcoholic power inside; it straightens up, and that touch of eau de vie continues – the imprint of this vintage. There is plenty of grip, and a flavour of caramel from the oak towards the end. Modern-style Châteauneuf. From 2010, and later than that if you want as more local wine. 14.5°. 2019-20 Nov 2008
