2011

quite a dark red robe, legs. The nose is broad, goes to the brim, has a deep-seated, chocolate quality, a sturdy depth, shows airs of smoked bacon, wild red berries. This is a wine of imposing scale, reminds me of a 2007. Thickly coated, contains stewed plums, prune with tobacco in its flavour. Its sides are broad. It is a sipping wine for now, not free drinking. Time will loosen and render it more fluid, a good thing. From 2016, say. 16°, note. 85% Gren, 15% Syr. 2024-26  Oct 2013

2010

(oak) dark red; coffee air in a broad and smoky nose that has a tarry depth, shows pine forest, mint over its top, while there is a sense of raspberry fruit within. The palate is wide and beefy at first; it is filled with polished, suave red cherry, upright fruits, and is not yet giving much flexibility. Firm tannins is inset and drives the close. There is pine infused into it. The gras travels a good long way on to a complete finish. From 2014. 2030-32 Dec 2011
