The Wines

80-90% Grenache (early 1970s), 10-20% Syrah from stony soils on Les Garrigues, purchased wine, destemmed, 4 week concrete vat vinification, pumping overs, aged 2-3-4 year 228-litre oak casks 12 months, fined, filtered, 19,000 b

(casks) pale red robe. The nose is sparky if a little lean, reflects raspberry fruit mostly with a cool spicing, some licorice. The palate holds red fruits with tannins that are on the cutting side. It’s rather fragile, and lacks reassuring richness along its path. The finish is rather vacant. 14°. 19,000 b. £15 in GB. Try, and hope for more roundness, from 2018. 2022-23 Apr 2017
