2012 ()

healthy dark robe; has a wide landscape nose, a prolonged air of black berry, a nice little sultry extra note of date, a genuine fullness. There are pine-resin, oak notes. The palate serves an intricate display of black, smoky fruit, tar and dark tannins, a sizzled bacon and tobacco late flavour. This goes its own way, away from the sweet-bodied mass of wines. There is authentic southern feel on the nose, and the palate is well assembled, the fruit cool in places, if a bit taut. It is a bit stretched, the finish dry. From 2016. 14.5°. 68% Syr, 22% Gren, 10% Mourv. 2026-28  Nov 2013

dark robe; oak smoke, licorice front airs with blackberry fruit that is ripe and pretty rich in behind, had a spiced note of Indian tea. The palate sets off stylishly, picks up some grainy, fresh tannin. Young wine, will go on. It can combine elegant fruit and sound tannic backing with its oaking. The juicy moments late on are a good sign. It has good length, is pretty stylish. An interesting glass around 2018. From mid-2015. 14°. 2026-28  Dec 2012
