12-36% Clairette blanche, 29-34% Bourboulenc, 25-38% Grenache blanc, 0-13% Picpoul blanc, 1-7% Roussanne, 2-3% Picardan, steel vat fermented at 18°C, raised 80% steel vat, 20% 228-litre & 600-litre oak casks 8 months, malo blocked


fine yellow robe; there’s a hint of reduction on the nose, so decanting a definite option. It shows a hint of licorice, fennel, a mix of pear and apricot. The palate is compact, tender, squeezy, with a mild display of white fruits, and a gentle finish, well rounded. It’s more table than aperitif wine due to its soft texture, for steamed dishes, noodle dishes, for example. It’s an elegant Chateauneuf blanc with fine length. 13.5°. 38% Gren bl, 34% Bourb, 13% Picpoul bl, 12% Clairette, 2% Picardan, 1% Rouss. Bottled July 2019. €28. 2026-28 Oct 2019

2017 ()

pale robe, yellow tints. The bouquet is led by an air of peach, some overt ripeness in the fruit, a “high” note. It’s rather sweet, buttery, lightly floral, has nutty drifts. The palate comes with a flavour of compote of white fruits, stewed mixed fruits, glides along on a cosy texture with notes of citrus clarity developing en route, leading into a little grip, firmness as it ends. This is refined Châteauneuf blanc. It can serve for the aperitif, note. 13.5°. 2028-30 March 2019
