2017 ()

(casks) full, dark robe; black olives, blackberry, a real southern take on the nose – it has a firm sweetness on the inside. The palate attacks with juicy, thick black-fruited content, involves some sizeable tannins, their darkness prevalent on the finish: perhaps they could have been a tiny bit riper. There is a toffee note, from oak, on the punchy finish. This has good heart, and will please if drunk in smallish amounts. 16°. 3,000 b. 100% Grenache. From mid-2021. 2039-41 Oct 2018

(casks) deep red colour. Has a broad, beefy, brothy aroma with an oily, incipient power aspect; it evokes red cherry and raspberry liqueur. The palate is firm and sustained, runs with tenacious content, and gives a kick from within. This is a naked style of Grenache, with a little sweetness from the oak, which benefits from not being the smaller 228-litre size. 16°. 100% Gren. 3,000 b. From 2021. 2037-40 Oct 2017

2015 ()

(casks/vat) very full robe; has a big bouquet based on coated, sealed black fruits heading for jam. Prune is prominent. The palate holds fluid, wavy gras, with a sprinkle of salted tannins that help its movement. It holds up well, the fruit bearing a blueberry coolness. The aftertaste is wide, and washed by vigorous, butty tannins that line the gums. It achieves some of the vintage freshness, to its credit. From 2020. 2036-39 Sept 2016

2011 ()

(bottling Feb 2013) dark red; smoke-tar aroma with some elegant black fruit behind, a touch perfumed. This can be graceful. The palate gives tasty, open black berry fruit which has supple tannins alongside. The oak is mostly inside until the finish, which is a little charry. This is a supple Châteauneuf, where the oak doesn’t add a lot to its fluid gras richness. From spring 2015. 16.5°. €35. 2031-33  Dec 2012
