2012 ()

(barrel, bottling Oct 2014) sombre dark plum red; cinnamon and bouquet garni herbs airs front up the nose, that comes with an agreeable soaked plum fruit coating under it and forms its heart. The palate displays garrigue-infused Grenache plum fruit, a gradual tightening from powdery, rather scented tannins. Its fruit is wholesome, provides a tasty flourish as it finishes. This is enjoyable, and there is plenty of scope here; it lengthens well. 85% Gren, 8% Mourv, 7% various this year, 3,000 b. From 2016. 2027-29 Nov 2013

2010

(barrel/cask) dark. Chocolate with a hint of oak on the nose, so the bouquet offers a complete wide wall – it isn`t really out or nuanced for now. A black jam paste air lurks. The palate moves off at some pace, has a driving black fruit flavour, a spiced second half with the entrance of live, combustible tannins, no messing around. It barely keeps its power within boundaries, and resurfaces on a lightly floral note on the finish – which is a bit wild. The wine is scaled up bu intent. From late 2014. 2028-30 Dec 2011

2009

(to be bottled July or Oct 2011) dark red, purple tints. Jelly fruit air, assured depth on nose, has herbal instincts: it is an excellent, very typical Grenache nose. Tasty Grenache debut, real good flow in this, leads to nutty late moments. Good length, combines spice and herbs. Fine, fresh ending. From 2014. 2028-31 March 2011 Previously Oct 2010 **** (barrel) dark, black cherry colour; confident, sleek fruit nose that has an international style black cherry, black jelly air. There is a smooth run of black fruit laced with oaked tannins closing in on it later. The fruit is shiny, and this can be harmonious, with the proviso that it needs to absorb its oak – this means it ends on dry notes. From 2015. 2026-29 Oct 2010

2007

(casks) full red; has a violet, floral-inspired nose, with a mulberry, red berry tone underneath – it is open, and comes in a mildly liqueur fashion. There is a nice cascade of fruit on the palate – classic red Grenache red fruits; it carries on with a little tannic sinew that provides character. STGT in style – an uncluttered wine of honest virtue. Has really good heart, gives access to bonny Grenache. The end tannins support it well. Good stuff here. From late 2010. 2024-26 Nov 2008

2006 ()

largely red robe; red fruits and plums aroma, with an easy, quite soft air, is supple, and also laced with herbs. Softly textured wine, rounded fruit with good heart in it. Squeezy Grenache wine, that sustains its ripe fruit pretty well through the palate. Ends rounded and clean, its balance is nice. Gentle, sweet red, raspberry fruit makes this approachable. Slight late mineral tang, drink from 2009. 2021-23 Nov 2007

2005

some turn in its red robe; baked red fruits with vegetal, cake airs and a potent infill that mixes herbs and pepper. This bouquet is still upright – it will be more integrated from mid-2010. This is a wine to sip, not quaff on the palate. The start is supple, then it grows width as it goes, and ends broad-shouldered. Raisin and Christmas cake on the finish, its tannins demand it be left until 2011. Drink in autumn or winter with seasonal dishes and cool winds. A very southern wine whose peppered aftertaste inclines towards Porto and prune effects. It has real gained weight and complexity since its first tasting as a Grenache novice at 1 year old. 14°. 2024-26 June 2008 Previously Nov 2006 ***** fair red, very Grenache in its low-key nature. Primary, rather high tone red fruit aroma, is a pretty pure Grenache example, backed by a little pepper and fruit pastille. Savoury, STGT style of red fruit, round and broad, with good, ripe tannins. Lasts well, with no cellar forcing. A lot of charm to come. Very authentic. From 2009-10. 2027-29 Nov 2006

2004

purple tints in the red; warm, nicely filled bouquet – some leather, and a touch of pointed acidity. The generally soft theme continues on the palate, with elegant black fruits, holds good grip. Extends well through the palate with good balance. Good choice of varieties to go with the Grenache. Drinkable now, with soft tannins. 2016-18 Oct 2006

1995

quite a dark robe. Intense, spiced, almost fat, warm nose. The palate is full, sappy, has a warm, oily texture, is ample. It just manages to handle its heat. The length is fair, can develop. Grenache of attractive plump features lies at its heart. Has an easy style. From 1999. 2008-10 Oct 1996
