(casks) quite a thorough red; supple, red jam aroma, reflects crabapple, and also has a light meaty tang. Round and supple attack – moves off simply and easily. Is soft all through, and has just a few late tannins. A simply presented wine that seems to lack scope and horizon. From 2009. 2017-18 Nov 2007

2005 ()

mid-depth red plum robe; raspberry jam aroma, with a scented air around it and an even persistence: it is young, not yet varied. Has fair, not great depth. There is bite in the palate red fruit – the interior is earthy, quite full, and it ends on a slightly tannic but calm trail. Mild wine that is dumb right now – try from spring 2010, and decant if you can`t wait until then. It has reserves of matter for the future. 2019-21 June 2008 Previously Nov 2007 *** bright, full red robe; scented red jam aroma, with a slight earthy backdrop. The palate bears clear fruit with some ripe tannin, and has bone in it. The length is sound. The tannins stick out a bit at the end, although the finish is chewy and can settle. Esp from late 2008. 2016-18 Nov 2007
