2010 ()

(casks) dark robe. Crunchy, bosky, wide bouquet that shows a combination of blackberry and raspberry, and is backed by pepper, lardon (bacon chunks), oak and tar darkness – this will vary, has plenty to offer. The palate`s black fruit seems to be a rather stylish Syrah (tasted blind); it is well mixed in with the oak, which prevails on the finish. The balance is sound, and the oak will infuse. The juice on the finish is rather generous – this declares and runs well, but be warned: this is not typical Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and be warned of its oak. It shows how good 2010 has been for the Syrah. From late 2014. 2030-32 Dec 2011
