80% Grenache (early 1970s), 10-15% Syrah, 5-10% Cinsault (late 1960s) from clay, some galet stone soils at Champauvin, Les Garrigues Saint Dominique at Courthézon & Orange, 80-90% destemmed, 3-4 week vinification, pumping overs, part vat emptying and refilling, cap punching, Cinsault, most Grenache aged 80% concrete vat, a little Grenache aged large barrel, Syrah aged 3-5 year old oak 600-litre casks 6-8 months, unfined, filtered, 8,500-12,000 b

2016 ()

shiny, pretty full red colour. The nose is open, appealingly juvenile, led by mulberry, with darker notes of blueberry, raspberry, a soft note of roses. The palate has a patina of dark red berry fruit, with inner depth, notably tight-knit content. It leads into a concerted finish, a close and butty sign-off. It will benefit from air- the expansion to show more. The aftertaste has a floral, violet and rose detail in it. Bonny, tight wine. 14°. From spring 2018. 2024-25 Aug 2017

2014 ()

(vat/barrel, bottling June 2016) clear red robe. Open, easy fruited bouquet led by a sweet cassis with a raspberry sidecar. The palate is authentic, local – there is a good Grenache red berry heart with herbs such rosemary to season it. It just keeps a lid on its power, has a mulled fruit intensity. The finish is full, with smoke-tar present in the red fruit. 14°. 8,500 b. From spring 2016. 2021-22  Oct 2015 

2011 ()

shiny, quite full red. Soaked red cherries, raspberries air – the nose offers “lustrous” fruit, has the 2011 sunshine in it. The palate starts on blackberry fruit, is tasty, rather rich, fluid. A drinkable wine built around its attack and its reach. It ends less on fruit, more on grainy tannin as the fruit falls back. Straightforward, no pretensions. The dusty, grainy finish leave a question mark. 14°. To 2017  Dec 2012

2010

dark red; has an enclosed but nicely full nose so it can prosper in time and display its qualities. It gives a sense of ripe dark red fruits such as loganberry and mulberry, plus a little drift of the herb-strewn garrigue. The palate is tight, round, sealed for now: it is broad, has good potential and balance, and its fruit is thorough. Very good – good bang for the buck at €6.55 at the cellars, a serious wine of serious quality. Young now – it certainly covers the ground. The finish is complete, too. Good with lamb. “It was too powerful at first, after we bottled it in April 2011; it tastes very well now, is very explosive,” Nicolas Boiron. 14°. 2018-18 Feb 2012

2009 ()

dark red, purple, some matt in the tone of the robe. Chocolate-raisin aroma, also violet – the bouquet is full. Robust, richly textured palate that involves scented dark fruits, has toasted moments (oak), and ends on a pebbly tone. The length is good. It is not yet really an ensemble, but its richness will prevail once the oak moves inside on the finish. From mid-2011. A solid Côtes du Rhône, best with food. From mid-2011. To 2016. Oct 2010

2007 ()

handsome, dark red; has a lying in wait red fruit and herbs aroma that is sealed up now, has good core, sound substance. The palate offers good, cohesive red fruits, is well-filled, with the Grenache prominent. Toffee and raisin style aftertaste. A wholesome, natural wine of good body and authority, that runs on well. 2011-12 Feb 2009
