70-100% Roussanne (1982-83), 0-30% Grenache blanc (1982-83) from limestone, clay-limestone soils on La Louise on Palestor (N, clay soils), 24 hour cold crop maceration, 3 week new 600-litre oak cask & concrete egg fermentation at 20-22°C, raised 7-8 months, lees stirring only early on to deal with reduction, malo blocked, the best of the 6 hectares of white varieties chosen for this, first wine 2007, 1,100-1,631 b

2018 ()

(casks/egg) yellow colour; the nose features elder berry, camomile, has a nutty aspect. It’s a medium depth opening. The palate holds a steady level of low-key gras richness, a flavour of peach, white plum, isn’t especially declaring, or open. It has potential to show more, and be rather stylish, the content well established. It is a table wine, with white meats, mushroom dishes in view. 14.5°. From late-2020. 2031-33 Oct 2019

2017

burnished yellow robe, has depth. There is ripe weight in the bouquet, an aroma of brioche bread, a hint of cooked orange. It’s broad and quietly muscular. The palate comes with a firm, layered couch of white fruit jam, peach and grapiness in the flavour. It ends on a lip smack texture, has accumulated intensity there. It’s a solid wine which needs opening up, and time will aid it to be provocative. Suited to sauced dishes, strong flavours. Decant it. 14°. 1,631 b. 80% Rouss, 20% Gren bl. 2016

shiny yellow robe. Has a plump, reined nose, shows greengage plum, also aniseed, salt. The palate has a rolling start, is juicy and nicely textured, holds soft richness in a ball, ends on fleshy textures, with a touch of late tang. This has a good foundation. Its oak is well inside. 14°. 2025-27 Oct 2017

2015

bright yellow robe, legs. The nose is appealing – has good style, shows plums, smoke, honeysuckle, orange peel. The palate is rich with finesse from the attack onwards; it is well-knit, and more solid than the 2016. Its texture is silken; it has good late roundness and depth. The aftertaste is on salt, roasted nuts, the length good. It can live until 2025-26. 14°. Oct 2017

2011 ()

pale yellow, pear-tinted robe. This gives fruit tart, pineapple airs, with vanilla and a fresh, aniseed note that gives lift after the sweeter start. The palate flavours leads on dried apricots backed by a white strawberry jam inset, before it moves on to a fresh, straight-line finale. It is pretty stylish, its oak absorbing. The aftertaste reflects peach jam and oak. There is decent body inside the oak. From mid-2014. 14°. 1,100 b. 100% Roussanne. €38. 2023-25  Dec 2012
