2016 ()

steady red robe. The nose mixes blueberry and raspberry fruit, has a baked sideline that slightly clouds the fruit. The palate gives a flavour of prune, black raisin, has the sun of the year in the style of the fruit. It’s all concerted together, and needs time. The finish is compressed, on dark content, a pinch of dryness in the tannins. There’s an offer of red berry fruit early on, which is encouraging. Traditional style Châteauneuf here. red robe with a ruby top hue. Has a blackberry aroma with spice, camphor seasoning, a note of pine woods; its shape is square. The palate is an easy drinker, based on supple, smoky big red berry content with a little breeze in the tannins towards the finish, minted and more pine-varnish notes there. The aftertaste has a lip smack nature. It’s a regular Châteauneuf, suited to beef, stews. 14°. 2026-28 Mar 2018

2004 ()

matt red/black colour with some advance apparent. Hints of fungal alongside the red plum aroma – bouquet is knit together and has some funky leanings. Solid, red baked fruit flavour – with good, clean lines. Elegant and harmonious, holds decent acidity to pep it up. The red fruits are pleasing here. 2016-18  Oct 2006
