dark red, appealing robe; the bouquet carries a little reduction, so air will benefit it. There’s a crushed dark berry aroma at its centre, notes of black olives, buffed leather. The palate exercises restraint, gives a steady roll of cherry fruit with a nudge of depth, drive in the tannins, a discreet late structure. It’s capable of evolving further, opening more, and softening its tannins, is close-knit, rather careful. It could be decanted. 14°. Bottle no. 2247. 2026-27 Nov 2020

serious dark red colour. Mulberry fruit first aroma, with a more springy raspberry air in the second tier. There is a suggestion of roses, herbs. There is ample juice on the palate, which runs consistently, has some licorice flavouring. I like its bounty, abundance. The aftertaste is peppered. 13.5°. 48,000 b. €8. Bottled Feb 2015. From spring 2016. 2021-22  Oct 2015

2011 ()

mild red robe; sunny, attractive fat airs on the nose, led by red jam, red cherry, a touch of herbs. The palate gets off to a supple start, with ease in its texture, and an enjoyable little saline grip at the end. Good for the next two years – this is a very drinkable, w.o.w. wine. 13.5°. To 2015 May 2012

2010 ()

mid-depth red; pretty, sweet red fruit liqueur or red jam such as raspberry aroma. The palate gives sleek red fruits with some depth and tannic licoirce backing. It “darkens” at the end. It is rather arm`s length, a wine of low soul. 13.5°. 2016-17 May 2012

red, some purple; graphite, licorice air, comes with a hum of power, a vague eau de vie implication. The palate is taut, stretched, with a sense of extraction. Red fruit is present, but is stiff in style. It ends on cherry, kirsch notes. Needs food. To 2014. Oct 2010

2007

mild red robe Low-key black berry jam aroma. Simple fruit on the palate – this is almost a vin de café, has a floral scent. The length is OK. Could be served cool. Bottled 1 month ago. To 2011. March 2009

soft red. Smoky, mid-depth red fruit aroma, a licorice snap with it. The palate is clam, not that full, slides along, its length OK. A simple wine. To 2011. March 2009
