2018 ()

red robe; the bouquet is alert, gives immediate raspberry and red cherry, a touch of grilling. The palate bears plucky red fruit with a little late strength, firmness, the flavour raspberry with dried herbs. There’s a little late crunch in the texture. 13.5°. 40% Gren, 30% Syr, 20% Carignan, 10% Vaccarèse. Bottled Aug 2019. From spring 2020. 2023-24 Oct 2019

2017 ()

bright red; There is interesting, measured fullness on the nose, sweet raspberry and cherry. The palate bears redcurrant flavours, has firm sides of tannin, structure, a good development after half way. Compact tannin drives the close. It’s not ready now – drink from mid-2020. The finish is rather inky. It’s more serious than the 2018, the tannins quite evident, is very much table wine, beef on the menu. 13.5°. This has Ferrande 2017 & Vieilles Vignes 2017 in it this year. “There were a lot of small bunches and grapillons, secondary bunches, so it was a hassle to work with; it’s a bit apart because the other wines are in it,” Philippe Bravay. 2026-28 Oct 2019


quite a dark red; beef stock, a brooding bouquet with black cherry, a lean towards liqueur, but it’s nicely controlled, channelled, has herbs notions. The palate gives a fresh first hit, develops a fulfilling stream of red fruits with carefree delivery, lots of zig zag, and brightness in the tannins. It’s authentic, gives a lot of appeal at the end, salt on the aftertaste. A good pH of 3.35 will mean this will live well. “In hot years like this, I vinify lower, at 24° to 26°C,” Philippe Bravay. 2026-28 Oct 2019

2015 ()

mild red robe. Given that it’s a 2015, the nose is edgy, with a vegetal-prominent spice bearing in its red berry backdrop, as if it came from a cool vintage. The palate holds fluid red fruit with a click-clack of tannin on the late moments. It is direct and almost lean along its flanks.
