(casks, bottling spring 2020) level red robe; the nose is charming, bears airs of strawberry, red cherry, is nice and bright, “up”, has light liqueur connotations, dried herbs on board. The palate parades the sweet, easy 2018 fruit, comes with a little topping of degree above, munchy tannins. It’s easy to like, gourmand, red juice running around it. The aftertaste is spiced. From 2022. 2035-37 Oct 2019

red robe; paste of red fruits, garden berries with a note of mixed herbs on the nose. The palate starts with dark, tarred content, holds supple gras, a ball of it, at its centre, before dark, more direct tannins come along. It’s not really ensemble – its raising has skewed it. It ends a bit dry for now. Leave until 2022. The nose has charm, but it’s very compressed on the palate. 15°. Bottled Jan 2018. 2037-39 Oct 2019 Previously Oct 2017 ****(*) (casks) dark red robe. The nose has a thick aroma of stewed red fruits, plums, a typical ripe Grenache richness with some sweet prune fruit present. The palate is spiced, brooding, holds richness that is dense, layered, and tannins that are nicely munchy. The aftertaste is a little dark, almost fiery. This is real ground force, good and traditional Châteauneuf that extends well, leaves a menthol, thick coating on the aftertaste. It has plenty of personality, feels hand made. 15°. 100% Gren. €26 is fair. From 2022. 2038-40 Oct 2017

black plum robe, some lustre in it. Sweet-toned black fruits on the nose have a crisp, up and down air, along with a small outbreak of secondary, damp aromas, burnt toast. There is good, live black fruit content in the palate, that runs with a fine arrow of direction. It takes on a peppery late stage with gutsy content wrapping it together. The length is good and solid. OK to drink now, but more ensemble from mid-2009. The aftertaste is quite potent, rich – Dundee cake, sweet notes. 2019-21 June 2008

firm, brewed, full nose – reflects red fruits, is quite solid and there is more to come. The palate has interesting fruit, gets off to a striking start, is peppery. Solid and upright, needs to be left until 2009. 14.5°. 2018-20 Feb 2006 Previously Oct 2006 *** full robe with a little matt in its tone; tight, blackberry fruit aroma, laced with herbs/laurel and some red meat for power. Black fruit with a tannic thread on palate, tightens from half way. The tannins need leaving till around early 2009. Not that full-bodied – the fruit stops a shade early. 2015-18 Oct 2006
