2016 ()

(vat) deep red, some purple in the robe. This has a nicely lively nose, black cherries mixed with a little dustiness, graininess. It’s a bouncy start, shows a trace of reduction. The palate rocks along with fulsome black fruit and a little tannic grain thrust after the mid point. This is up-tempo wine for grills, barbecues. It isn’t quite all as one between content and tannin, so leave until early 2018 – the spring. There is depth beyond the upbeat fruit, and this is local, authentic from warm lands wine. 14°. 2014

(vat, bottling Nov 2015) attractive red robe. This has a nicely supple layer pf red cherry on the nose, is rounded, a little reduction present. The palate is more peppery, backed by fresh red fruit, redcurrant. It takes on some more punchy content on the finish, the tannins dark for now. It is going the right way. 14°. 9,000 b. From mid-2016. 2019-20  Oct 2015
