2017 ()

(casks) ripe looking dark red; has a brewed, brothy aroma, stewed Grenache fruit, very primary, still in the vat. The palate is raw, unrefined, carries a surge of red fruit, spice with slightly chalky tannins in tow. This needs time to fuse and flow. There are moments of savoury appeal for now. From mid-2021. 2037-39 Oct 2018

2016 ()

(casks, bottling Feb 2018) dark red. Mulled, rather sweet red fruits lead the nose, with a light note of perfume attached. The palate is gentle, refined, travels widely, carries suave content with a little pick-up in grain tannin towards the finish. It keeps its degree just about under control, though there is definite glow on the aftertaste. It’s a fulsome, perfumed Châteauneuf, with a lip-smacking quality. 15.5°. From 2020. 2031-34 Oct 2017
