quite a full red robe. Has a grapey, smoky, charcoal-flecked nose, with ripe raspberry within. It combines some sweetness with a smoky-mineral sideline. The palate starts with gunflint, mineral style, lithe content, red fruits with a breeze in them. This is slow burn, slow gain wine. The tannins have inner crispness, and the aftertaste assembles some gummy richness with a smattering of dried herbs, menthol. It needs time to bring together what are disparate strands.
