2016 ()

(casks) shiny red robe, legs. Has a bouquet that mixes cherry fruits with dried herbes de Provence. It’s clear, but quiet for the moment. The palate comes with rather stylish red fruits and smooth tannins well wrapped around it. The finish gives a local glow of intent from its degree. It has decent body, and, while it doesn’t completely grab the imagination, is a very sound Châteauneuf. 14°. From 2020. 2031-33 Nov 2017


rather shiny red robe. Smoke-filled raspberry fruit is the lead aroma on the nose, a discreet note of baking, compression beyond. The palate issues peppery red fruits in a tight funnel, all narrow and concentrated for the present. There is a quiet show of red fruit juice on the restricted, compact finish. It has the potential to be a muscular southern wine, with the close-knit features of the vintage. 14°. Time is its friend: leave until 2020. 2030-32 Sept 2016

2013 ()

steady red robe. There’s a vegetal, smoky side to the bouquet, some riper prune air within. It has a little hum of southern strength. The palate bears sound richness, cooked black stone fruits, with a note of menthol towards the finish. It is moving together. There is cut, perhaps a little lack of ripeness, in the tannins late on. Allow until late 2019, and decant. 14.5°. 2029-30 Mar 2018 Previously Oct 2014 *** medium colour. The initial impression offers a Burgundian red fruit-raspberry nuance. The nose is fresh, but is there a touch of green behind? This is burly and tannic on the palate, the tannins definitely needing time to settle down. A bit wayward but should settle. 2005 ()

(pre-bottle) some heat in the nose, there is a big couch of fruit within – plenty here. Alcoholic thread to it, is quite a monster do, and out of kilter now. Very evident tannins – is a wild beast. Mix of oak and tannin on finish. There is rich content and it can settle. Esp 2010 on. 2022-24 Nov 2006
