2018 ()

(large barrel/casks) shiny, full red robe; there’s a note of oak varnish on the top nose, which lies ahead of its cassis, rather intense black fruits, bars the way for now. The palate also reflects its young oak, though the content is suave; it rolls along without hindrance, and there is a little fresh detail in its tannins. It’s going to make its way together gradually, is fresh. I’m not sure how much the oak contributes. 14.5°. 8,000 b. 60% Gren, 25% Syr, 15% Mourv. €36. From 2023-24. 2040-42 Oct 2019

2017 ()

(barrel/casks) dark red; the nose is a mixed bag of berry fruits, has floral, rose notes, stewed fruits thickness within, cassis fruit. It stretches out quite far. The palate has a minted note, bears a layered couch of content, cassis at its centre, with some spark along the second half, a little sweetness. The texture is smooth until the cluster of tannins on the finish, their graininess changing the texture. Has decent length. 14°. From mid-2021. 2039-40 Oct 2018

2016 ()

(barrel/casks, bottling March 2018) sober dark red robe, a matt hue for now. The nose gives red cherry fruit, with a dusting of herbes de Provence, pine, has an unpretentious style, shows a click of lead pencil clarity. The palate is the child of warm, stony lands via its rather rugged tannins and lithe content, the plum fruit spiced, the finish still demanding and a bit dry. The aftertaste is on red cherry, slight kirsch. It’s a down the line, not facile Châteauneuf, with fusion to come. 14°. 12,000 b. 70% Gren, 20% Syr, 10% Mourv. €38. From 2020. 2033-35 Oct 2017

2015 ()

red robe. Light spice-floral airs show on the nose, strawberry fruit. It’s accessible. This is open, curvy wine, comes with mild tannins, sound fruit through to the finish. It is not that distinguished, but is drinkable, builds some late tar stamp on the finale. This has slight Pinot associations, gives true Châteauneuf finesse. It’s a gentle, aromatic wine with some late foundation. The finish will become softer. 14°. 2027-29 Oct 2017

red robe. Has a nice glancing air of red berry fruit, bright strawberry, is a curvy and open bouquet, with a little smoke and light spice. The palate is sympa, softly fruited, builds spice. The fruit is bright and pure. This is very drinkable. Raised large barrel 8-9 months. 14°. 7,500 b. To 2022-24 Oct 2017
