60% Syrah (old vines), 30% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre from sandy, clay-limestone galet stone soils, destemmed, cool pre-fermentation maceration, 5 week vinification in 80% large oak barrel, 20% tronconic vat, pumping overs, some cap punching, part vat emptying/refilling, aged 20% new, 80% 1-4 year 228-litre oak casks 18-20 months, unfined, filtered, only made in best vintages

(casks) red robe. There is the comfortable depth of large red berry fruits on the nose, which has a note of lavender and herbes de Provence. There are hints of flowers. It’s a stylish start. This glides long, is enjoyable and serene, comes with good heart and silken tannins. The fruit resembles raspberry with good low-key intensity in its delivery. It’s all well connected and nourishing, and is well superior to its country cousin the Tradition domaine red. There is detail in the red fruit, a little fresh vibrancy inset.
