70% Grenache (1940s), 20% Syrah (2002), 10% Mourvèdre from galet stone covered sandy with some loose grès soils on Les Cassanets (N-E), partly destemmed, crushed, 3 week concrete vat vinification at 26-28°C, twice daily pumping overs, cap punching, one part vat emptying/refilling a week, cap punching, aged 600-litre oak casks 10-11 months, fined, filtered, 600 b

2017

(casks, bottling Nov 2018) very dark, healthy robe. Stewed fruits with a floral attachment lead the nose, which is very full, persistent. The palate holds savoury content with some garrigue, mixed herbs inflections, has a tasty heart, with the gras fluid and rolling. It’s a big wine with control, though not wine to drink too much of. Suited to game stews, four legged game. 15.5°. 600 b. 70% Gren, 20% Syr, 10% Mourv. From 2022. 2042-44 Oct 2018
