(casks) level red robe. The nose leads on spice, black pepper, black raisin airs, a hint of dates. It’s weighty. The palate bears firm content that has a smooth outside, so it runs surely the length of the palate, brings in tobacco, smokiness on the finish. There is good width, and the late touches of saltiness give it lift. The portents are good for a full Châteauneuf that can fuse its oak tar over time. There is glow from the degree on the persistent aftertaste, a slightly rugged note there. 15°. From 2021. 2032-34 Nov 2017
