The Wines

30-35% Roussanne, 20-24% Clairette, 15-23% Bourboulenc, 23-30% Grenache blanc from sandy & clay-limestone soils, from 2009 fermented new 25 hl tronconic oak vat (new 600-litre oak casks before), raised on lees 6 months, daily lees stirring, malo blocked, 3,000-3,100 b

nice sheen on the yellow robe; the bouquet is appealing, joli, carries gentle white fruit aromas with floating, grapey airs, florality, a pinpoint saline note also. The palate is refined, expressive, bears floral touches in its plum, pear fruit flavours.  The finish is clear, the fruit still rolling there. Its acidity will permit a bonny evolution. 14°. 3,000 b. 35% Rouss, 30% Gren bl, 20% Clairette, 15% Bourb. €27. Bottled Apr 2019. 2031-33 Oct 2019

pale yellow; has a pear, boiled sweets aroma, a sense of sherbet. The palate is medium weight, runs with a steady hand, carries pear, white plum flavouring, ends on some freshness. It has a softness that pleases, keeps going nicely, the finish buttery, soft and pleasing, if still a little dumb. Decanting helpful. 13.5°. 3,000 b. 35% Rouss, 30% Gren bl, 20% Clair, 15% Bourb. Bottled Apr 2018. €27. 2026-28 Oct 2018

(oak vat, bottling April 2017) pale yellow. The nose is attractive, graceful, has airs of peach, tobacco, flowers such as violets. This has locked-up potential on the palate, comes with good, suave, still knit content; it develops a little sweetness along the palate, delivers a touch of late tannin. This has detail, good delineation. The length is correct. It’s stylish, with enough depth for la table. 14°. 2026-27 March 2017

2015 ()

shiny yellow robe. The nose has a good spring in its step, with peach, white plum and an attractive infill of white flowers, and salt. The palate issues fresh white fruits, again with a floral presence, softness from that. The finish is quiet, could be more sustained. This will serve for the aperitif, but has the body for hors d’oeuvres, steamed noodles. 13.5°. 3,000 b. 35% Rouss, 30% Gren bl, 20% Clair, 15% Bourb. 2021-22 Sept 2016 Previously June 2016 ***(*) pale yellow robe. The nose gives a light air of lees, aniseed notably, with cooked lemon, Mirabelle plum – it has a fresh line about it. The palate has a dried fruits emphasis on the attack; it shows a honeyed softeness towards the finish. It closes with a brief gras richness. It is still under its bottling. Best to drink à table, thanks to its texture and relative fat. Bottled 5 Apr 2016. 13.5°. From Sept 2016. To 2021 June 2016

2011 ()

quite a pale yellow; honey-peach, prominent nose with wax and oiliness, an attractive combination and very noticeable. There is light undertow of banana and a bit of dampness of fruit, a “high” aspect. The palate starts carefully, offers dried fruits, apricot. A mandarin tang gives it kick after half way, a handsome mineral note. The ripeness is appealing and measured. Style and elegance sought over power here. It ends firmly and can run into a second stage. It is a bit subdued on the finish. 13.5°. 2020-21  Sept 2012

attractive pale yellow, legs down the glass. Waxen, dried fruits nose with oak-pineapple influences, high tone and banana – it is a zesty start overall. The palate is fleshy, but within limits on the start, holds tight dried fruits, and gains elegant length. It finishes successfully on honey, nougat, pistachio tones. The lively nose and the grounded palate are a good combination. 2016-18 Nov 2009

bright yellow; oaked, assertive nose, very much led by its oak, with a little pineapple and butter in behind. Until the oak has been absorbed, it is hard to define. There is measured richness on the palate, the oak obvious. There is some late spicing, which helps it to end on an up note, with honey also on the aftertaste. Oak fans could drink this from May 2008. From late 2009. 2014-15 Jan 2008

2004 ()

very clean, stylish bouquet - citrus sides, gunflint, stone fruit. There are hints of oak straight away on the palate, the texture is refined, direct, It is a little simple now, but has the potential to diversify. There is an oak shroud over it now, including on the aftertaste. It has sinew, and potential. Elegance first and foremost for this. Length good. Esp 2007 on. 2016-18 September 2005, London

baked, broad bouquet accentuates pineapple. Juicy start, with rich tone, oak presence means leave it till 2004. May 2003
