2017 ()

(vat) dark red robe with a matt hue. Oxtail, prune, deep black berry feature in the bouquet, which is pretty full to the brim. There are garrigue herbs notions. The palate works well on its smooth texture, flows with a steady hand, holds ripe tannins that are nourishing on the persistent close. Good, authentic Châteauneuf here, a successful, above average 2017. From 2021. 2040-42 Oct 2018

2016 ()

(vat) full, deep red colour. Has a jolly aroma led by blackberry and loganberry fruit with a jelly-like appeal to it. There is good purity in the fruit, which is the main show in town for now. The palate is bountiful, open for now, bears glistening black berry and cherry fruit with a silken texture in the delivery. This is a precise, cool, rather Burgundian take on Châteauneuf. The finish is well controlled, on licorice and nourishing gras. This has balance and harmony, clear features. 14.5°. From 2020. 2037-40 Oct 2017


(vat) dark plum red colour. The bouquet is lined with an air of stewed plums, soaked raspberries, some dampness from very ripe crop. The palate is very well juiced, gives a real splash of red fruits with some free wheeling tannins and their brightness. It has bundles of good energy, captures the imagination. A good Grenache-centric wine, great with lamb, for instance, bring on the rosemary as well. 15°. From 2019. 2035-38 Sept 2016
