The Wines

90% Grenache, 5% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre from mainly stony soils, with sand & a little limestone, destemmed, 3 week steel vat vinification at up to 25°C, cap punching, pumping overs, steel vat raised 12 months, filtered, “drink with sauced dishes, roast meats, game, cheese”

2016

(vat, bottling Jan 2018) decent red robe. The bouquet is subtly sweet, leads on raspberry fruit, hints of mulberry. The palate is smooth, and flows well, holds attractive Grenache with some floral, musky appeal. There is a natural roundness to what is a generous, well-presented wine. The tannins are just outside it for now, and the finish involves toffee notes. I would expect this to offer good value, but I don’t know the price. 14.5°. From mid-2019. 2030-32 Oct 2017
