95% Clairette blanche, 5% Grenache blanc from 70% sandy, 30% galet stone covered soils on Les Saumades (E), used oak cask fermented, raised 8 months, malo completed, organic wine, 1,500 b


quite a sturdy yellow robe; there’s grilling on the nose, which has a slightly exerted feel to it. Dried fruits, high tone feature. The palate is butty, compact, grounded, with a flavour of nut paste, dried apricot, ends with a tannic firmness. The crop could have been riper before pressing, I feel, which has brought the firmness and slight bitter note to the finish, which could be more refined.
