dark plum red robe. Has a nicely sleek, oily bouquet with sweet, ripe black fruits present, a dab of licorice and a shimmer of dried herbs. The palate is on instant juice of black cherry, blackberry fruits, followed by an increase in grain tannin with its powdered texture. The degree hovers around this on the second half, which would be “swallowed” if drunk with food. The nose-palate link is close, to its credit. The mid-palate fluid gras richness is attractive; it’s just the late palate dodgy balance and top heavy alcohol that hold it back. 14.5°. To 2022 June 2018
